“Tohaku Navi,” the Tokyo National Museum’s official smartphone app, which guides visitors through the Regular Exhibitions, now has new courses for the Toyokan, the Gallery of Horyuji Treasures, and the Archaeology Gallery in the Heiseikan. With this addition, explanations in both English and Japanese have become available for all galleries in the museum. We hope you try this app during your next visit.
We have been made aware of recent incidents taking place at event venues. As we expect a large number of visitors during the above special exhibition, we will be conducting a bag search on all visitors entering the museum as a preventive security measure from June 24 to July 7, 2014.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Due to facility maintenance, “e-Museum,” “Digital Archives,” and “Image Search” will not be available from 18:30 on June 1 to 9:00 on June 4, 2014. The museum will also be unable to receive e-mails during this period. However, “Library Catalogue Search” will be available as usual.
