A Guide to Tombstones and other Gallery Labels
This guide is a work-in-progress, with this initial version focusing on translating tombstone labels for objects in the Tokyo National Museum collection. It includes style and translation guidelines, and a Japanese-English glossary of terms and phrases that appear on our gallery labels. We would welcome your feedback, as we plan to further refine this guide in future editions.
