Thank You for your donations from former years

Thank You for Your Donations (April 2016–March 2018)

Visitor donations made between April 2016 and March 2018 for the conservation of cultural properties totaled 4,746,273 yen. We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed.
These donations were used to purchase materials and pay for treatments necessary for the utilization of cultural properties, namely exhibitions and lending. For example, cords for hanging scrolls were replaced, works of painting and calligraphy were remounted, valuable books brought to Japan by the natural historian and doctor Philipp Franz von Siebold (1796–1866) and oil painting were cleaned, new exhibition stands for sculptures were constructed, and anti-reflective acrylic-glass plates for frames were purchased.
Our conservation efforts will extend well into the future and we ask visitors for their continued support and cooperation.
