Tokyo National Museum is seeking a full-time Translator/Assistant Project Coordinator (limited-term) to be engaged in translation (Japanese / English) and assisting the coordination of international projects for three years, starting from July 1, 2014.

Until the end of March 2014, the Honkan elevators are unavailable owing to construction work. For visitors wishing to use elevators there are alternative elevators. Please ask a member of museum staff for guidance. Room T4 and basement floor are also closed. The Tokyo National Museum will renovate its ticket booths at the Main Gate (the booths will reopen in April 15, 2014). Renovation work will begin in mid-June 2013.
We apologize to visitors for any inconvenience this may cause.
As a part of the renovation work, the statue of Edward Jenner (located to the right of the Main Gate upon entry) will temporarily be placed in storage. From June 19, 2013, until the renovation work is completed, visitors will be unable to view this statue.
Due to facility maintenance, “e-Museum,” “Digital Archives,” and “Image Search” will not be available from 18:00 on June 16 to 9:00 on June 19, 2013. The museum will also be unable to receive e-mails during this period. However, “Library Catalogue Search” will be available as usual.
