This gallery features works by famous artists of the landscape-painting genre, along with famous works of bokuseki (calligraphy by Zen priests).
Current exhibit includes:
Painting on Zen Enlightenment (Enlightenment attained when a pebble hits bamboo), Attributed to Kano Motonobu, Former panel painting from the hojo (abbot's chamber) of Daisen-in temple, Muromachi period, 16th century (Important Cultural Property)
Reading in Bamboo Grove Study, Attributed to Shubun; inscription by Jiku'un Toren and 5 monks, Muromachi period, 15th century (National Treasure, On exhibit through September 29, 2013)
