Tokyo National Museum is pleased to present an exhibition of new, previously unreleased works by the contemporary artist Mr. Wang Yancheng.
This is the first exhibition in Japan to bring together recent works by Mr. Wang, who is active mainly in France and China. We hope you will enjoy these new works by Mr. Wang, who has been presenting his works in the international art scene.
Wang Yancheng
Born 1960 in Guangdong, China. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China, with a master’s degree in art history. He now lives and works in Paris, London, and Hong Kong, and has held exhibitions all around the world. He has held several important positions, including Visiting Professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China and the Rome University of Fine Arts in Italy; member of the International Association of Art, which is officially partnered with UNESCO; and Vice President of the Salon Comparaisons in Paris, France.
He has received numerous awards, including the Order of Michelangelo of Italy and the Chevalier de L'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of France. This will be his first time holding a large-scale exhibition in Japan.
