    Hirata Gōyō II (1903–81) was awarded the title of Living National Treasure in 1955 for his remarkable innovations in the art of doll making. He had succeeded in transforming this traditional Japanese craft into a critically acclaimed art form. This exhibition presents Gōyō’s artistic journey through four themes while exploring tradition and innovation in Japanese doll making.
