Wide-Mouthed Storage Jar with Peony Vines

The shape and decoration of this jar were likely inspired by wine containers from Longquan, China. The peony flowers carved into the surface are symbols of wealth and social status. The glaze, though less refined than Chinese glazes, is admired for its rich texture and warmth.
