Ritual Objects Used to Consecrate the Site of Kōfukuji Temple, Strips of Beaten Gold
These objects were buried at Kōfukuji Temple in Nara to pacify local spirits and ensure safe construction of the temple's buildings. The objects were created and buried in the first half of the 700s, prior to the construction of the temple's main hall. They were rediscovered in 1874.
