Every year the Tokyo National Museum acquires new works of art and other cultural properties. Last year was no exception as many objects were acquired through purchases and donations from our benefactors, with each one possessing unique value in its capacity to illustrate the culture of Japan or another country or region.

This exhibition, featuring 14 of these new acquisitions, introduces the Museum’s role of acquiring a broad variety of cultural properties to further enrich its collection.
