    May 22, 2007 (Tue) - July 16, 2007 (Mon)

A sense of refined aesthetics permeated life during the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910) and gave birth to unique material culture in Korea. This aesthetic sense was reflected in daily utensils and furnishings and characterized by harmony and balance of the articles as groups. Garments, accessories, furniture, table ware and stationery featured simple beauty, stressed functional practicality, and avoided bright colors and ostentatious decorations. They were not meant to stand out individually; their beauty was enhanced when ensembled in living spaces.

This display highlights the beauty of daily utensils from the Joseon dynasty, and includes tables and table ware, Confucian ceremonial utensils, stationery and smoking implements, and hats.
