Asian Gallery (Toyokan) Room 5
April 23, 2019 (Tue) - July 15, 2019 (Mon)
This thematic exhibition introduces the history of the collection and research of Chinese celadon porcelain at the Tokyo National Museum.
The exhibits on display are masterpieces from the Chinese celadon porcelain collected by the Museum in the roughly 150-year period from the Meiji era to the Heisei era.
While tracing the history of the Museum's collection and research activities, the exhibition hopes to reveal through celadon porcelain the distinctive Japanese sense of aesthetics and discernment.
