Japanese Archaeology and Special Exhibition (Heiseikan) Thematic Exhibition Room
November 6, 2018 (Tue) - December 25, 2018 (Tue)
Located in the eastern and western parts of Shikoku island, Matsuyama and Tokushima cities developed in unique ways through exchange with neighboring regions along the Seto Inland Sea. By featuring archaeological objects from between the Jomon period (ca. 11,000 BC–ca. 5th century BC) and the beginning of the Heian period in the late 8th century, this exhibition traces the cultural developments of these two places.
This exhibition showcases objects borrowed through a reciprocal lending of archaeological objects for FY2018 between the Museum and the Tokushima Archaeological Museum as well as the Archaeological Museum at Matsuyama City.
