Mr. Takashima Kikujiro (1875 - 1969), an industialist, started to study Chinese Classics such as Laozi and Zhuangzi.Through his studies he became interested in Chinese paintings and calligraphy and collected fine examples of Chinese works. In the spring of 1965, Mr. Takashima donated his collection to the Tokyo National Museum. We are pleased to hold this display to celebrate the 40th year of its donation.
