This exhibition showcases works by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797–1861), who attracts much attention even today for his unique renderings demonstrated in his works with themes such as landscapes, warriors, and beauties. Also in the lineup are works befitting the time of the year when the season changes from summer to autumn. These include prints featuring chrysanthemums in relation to the Chrysanthemum Festival and paintings depicting night scenes with beauties of Shinagawa and Fukagawa in Edo (now Tokyo).
