Wishes for affluence, long life, success, and the prosperity of one’s descendants – wishes that all humans share in common – are expressed in these Chinese patterns. In connection with the New Year, we invite visitors to view rugs, embroidery, and other textiles while exploring the hidden meanings of their felicitous motifs.
