The Heiseikan, which was built to commemorate His Majesty the Emperor’s wedding in 1993, is mainly used for special exhibitions. For this purpose there are four special exhibition galleries on the second floor, as well as the Japanese Archaeology Gallery on the first floor. The building also contains an auditorium and lounge area.
