This exhibition features various genres of ukiyo-e prints on the subject of cherry blossom. These include an early Edo-period folding screen showing merrymaking outside Yasaka shrine (once called Gion shrine) in Kyoto, yakusha-e prints of actors at Dojoji temple (in Wakayama), as well as depictions of famous places in Edo (present-day Tokyo) for viewing cherry blossom, such as the Yoshiwara pleasure quarters and Asukayama.
