Disaster Relief for the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake

We express our heartfelt condolences to those affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
Hasegawa Tōhaku (1539–1610), the painter of Pine Forest, a National Treasure currently on display on the second floor of the Japanese Gallery (Honkan), was born in Nanao on the Noto Peninsula. His painting evokes the pine trees growing across the expansive lands of the peninsula.
We ask for your help, as the Tokyo National Museum is collecting disaster relief donations for the duration of this painting’s exhibition period.
Donations will be delivered to the afflicted areas via the Japanese Red Cross Society.
Extended exhibition period for Pine Forest: Until January 28, 2024
