Distinguished by a lion-shaped crown, three eyes, and six arms, this fearsome Buddhist deity was worshipped for his power to turn lust into a pure desire for spiritual enlightenment. Formerly kept at a now-defunct temple in Nara, the sculpture retains its original halo, pedestal, and ornaments."
