In the early phase of the Kofun period, people adopted the same fishing methods that had been in use since the preceding Yayoi period. This section of the gallery introduces the fishing culture of the early phase of the Kofun period through objects such as iron fishhooks that were buried with the deceased in a tumulus, as well as clay fishnet sinkers and ceramic octopus traps.
