In the 5th century, advanced forging techniques were introduced from the Korean peninsula to the Japanese archipelago, resulting in changes in the points of iron blades that were mounted on agricultural tools. The dissemination of highly functional agricultural tools, which increased production in forestry and agriculture, had a great eect on the society of the Kofun period.
