High-resolution facsimiles of all thirty scrolls of master painter Itō Jakuchū’s Colorful Realm of Living Beings (National Treasure) paintings will be displayed at the Tokyo National Museum’s Hyokeikan galleries this spring. The facsimiles are the result of a joint research project for the utilization of high-quality reproductions of cultural properties by the National Center for the Promotion of Cultural Properties and Canon Inc. The works will be on public display to celebrate the completion of the project and in anticipation of the grand reopening of the Museum of the Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan.
