This year’s feature is China. Highlighted works from the Tokyo National Museum encounter masterpieces from the Shanghai Museum (nicknamed Shang-bo), one of the finest collections in China, in a dream collaboration celebrated by festive events related to Chinese cultures.
This year’s Journey through Asia at the Tokyo National Museum features China. During this time, masterpieces from the Shanghai Museum and the Tokyo National Museum are on view in a dream collaboration. We hope visitors enjoy our exhibits, dynamic as ever, at the Toyokan Asian Gallery.

Try It on and Strike a Pose!
Try on traditional Chinese and Korean and Japanese costumes - experiencing some of the differences between these cultures - and pose for a photo. Costumes for both children and adults will be available.
