Cultural Exchange Day for Foreign Students 2026

October 3 marks our Cultural Exchange Day. All foreign students studying in Japan will enjoy free admission to the TNM Collection Exhibitions!
Moreover, there will be a range of special events on the day, giving you a wonderful opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and traditions.

Overview of Events

Participation is free of charge, though admission tickets are required for those who do not qualify for free admission. Reservations are not required.

Learn about the Museum through Touch: Experience the Texture of Lacquerware	Venue Room 9, Japanese Gallery Hours 12:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.
"Our First Visit to TNM" in Easy Japanese	Venue Auditorium, Heiseikan Hours 1. 10:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m. (Doors open at 9:45 a.m.) 2. 3:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m. (Doors open at 2:45 p.m.) Note: Both sessions are the same content.
Gallery Talk in Chinese "Into the World of Japanese Archaeology" 中文讲解《走进日本考古》	Venue Japanese Archaeology Gallery, Heiseikan Led by CUI Yinghua (International Relations) Hours  1:00 p.m.–1:20 p.m.
Gallery Talk in Korean "Buddhist Sculpture: Similarities and Differences Between Korea and Japan" 갤러리 토크(한국어)「불교 조각 ― 한국과 일본의 닮은 점, 다른 점」	Venue Room 1, Japanese Gallery Led by PARK Sanghyun (International Relations) Hours  2:30 p.m.–2:50 p.m.

Note: Kuroda Memorial Hall is open until 5:00 p.m. (Last admission at 4:30 p.m.)

Admission

Foreign students studying at a Japanese school, Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs), and an accompanying visitor (limited to one per person) will all enjoy free admission to the TNM Collection Exhibitions. Please present your valid student or ALT ID when entering the museum.
Note: Special exhibitions require a separate admission fee.

【All other visitors】
TNM Collection Exhibitions: Adults: 1,000 yen; University Students: 500 yen
Notes: Admission for the TNM Collection Exhibitions is free for persons under 18 and over 70. Please show proof of age (driver's license, passport, etc.) when entering.
Persons with disabilities are admitted free of charge along with one accompanying visitor. Please show official ID or other documentation.
