April 2013 - June 2013 Past News

The Tokyo National Museum will renovate its ticket booths at the Main Gate (the booths will reopen in April 15, 2014). Renovation work will begin in mid-June 2013.

We apologize to visitors for any inconvenience this may cause.

As a part of the renovation work, the statue of Edward Jenner (located to the right of the Main Gate upon entry) will temporarily be placed in storage. From June 19, 2013, until the renovation work is completed, visitors will be unable to view this statue.

The museum will be closed on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 for annual facility maintenance. The Research and Information Center will be closed for two days on Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
