Large Deep Bowl with Birds and Flowers
Peonies symbolizing wealth and status, as well as chrysanthemums representing longevity, adorn this porcelain bowl. It was probably intended for export but never left Japan. Similar pieces are now found in collections throughout Europe, where they were sold as luxury goods to kings and nobles.
